Questions about the service

Twice a week, we will come to your home to pick up the bin containing waste that has been generated. The collection days will always be the same, and we will give you a two-hour interval in which the bin will be collected. When we are close to your home, we will share the real-time location of our collection vehicle with you, so you can calculate how long it will take to arrive at your door. Once we arrive at your home, we will take your bin with the food waste and give you another completely clean and disinfected bin. Once a month, you will receive a report on the positive impact you are making by subscribing to our service.

You can subscribe by completing the Registration Form. Once you have done so, we will contact you with more details.

You can sign up and try it for a couple of months. If you are not convinced you can cancel it.

You have to sign a liability agreement and service agreement before you start with the service. This agreement describes the service protocols, terms of payment and liability commitments of both parties.

We hope that never happens! If for any reason you need to unsubscribe, please let us know by email why you are cancelling and the final collection date. We do not issue partial refunds for the remaining collections for the month.

The cost of the service is $70.00 MXN (seventy pesos 00/100 MXN) per week, plus a one-off registration fee ($350 MXN) , which includes a kit so that you can separate your food waste. The cost of the service allows us to cover the expenses associated with the collection and to be able to pay decent salaries to our staff.

At the moment of subscribing to the service, it is necessary to pay a registration fee of $350.00 MXN (three hundred and fifty pesos 00/100 MXN). The registration fee includes the necessary kit for waste separation and the first collection.

Questions about the waste bin

You can deposit any food or food waste (cooked or raw). You cannot deposit inorganic waste, napkins, cardboard, paper, garden waste and pet excreta. See our list for more details.

The Nidaria Kit that you receive with your subscription includes a digital infographic with an extensive list of what you can and cannot put in the bin. In addition, with the subscription you have access to a WhatsApp number to ask any questions related to the project. Send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We recommend that you put all the waste that no longer fits in your bin in another container. When the collection vehicle arrives at your home you can ask it to take away your extra waste – we would be very grateful if you could let us know in advance!

Of course you can, depending on the amount of food waste you generate we can provide you with more buckets.

We recommend that the bin be in an easily accessible place. It can be next to the the rubbish bins, under the kitchen sink, inside a cupboard, etc. As it is a small bucket, it can adapt very well to any place. We do not recommend leaving the bucket in the open air as it can deteriorate.

We suggest using the two-litre plastic container to deposit the waste that is generated throughout the day, so that once it is full, it can all be emptied into the 13-litre bucket.

For logistics and capacity reasons, only the bucket provided in the Nidaria kit can be used.

The bucket supplied with the kit has a capacity of 13 litres. The diameter of the bucket is 31 cm and the height is 29 cm. If this container does not apt for your space, please contact us so that together we can see what we can do to solve it.

Not necessarily. If there is a security guard where you live, you can leave the bucket with them. You can also explore the possibility of leaving it in a specific place outside your home, to which we can have access and where the bucket is safe.

Sure. Send us a WhastApp message or an email informing us to not collect your bucket that day.

If your collection day falls on a public holiday, we will collect your bucket on the following day. We will give you one week’s notice of this change.

We collect the buckets in a private vehicle at the moment. However, we hope in the short term to use electric vehicles to mitigate the carbon footprint.
